Real Church Signs
You've seen them - the signs in front of churches, with a witticism or a pun that made you groan. I think they're hilarious, often unintentionally so. I've decided to start collecting the ones I see around Austin and on the web.
If you have a funny church sign picture you'd like to add, e-mail it to me. Be sure to let me know how you'd like to be credited, including if you have a website you want to link to. Please don't take it personally if I don't use your photo. Your photo remains your property, I will simply be displaying it here with your permission. All photos are copyright © by their owners and each is displayed here with the owner's permission; if your photo has been added to this gallery without your permission by mistake, please e-mail me and I'll remove it or add photo credit and a link, whichever you prefer.
Note: do not link directly to the images on this site - it won't work. Link to this page instead.

Here is a sign from this week at First Christian Church, Kirksville, MO. I had to laugh on a slightly different topic regarding this sign. I had posted it on my blog and we were commenting on "why the Disciples of Christ denomination has a cross on their chalice." My friend Padre Mickey might have the answer...he said, "no wine?" <g> |

Here's a very good example of why we as Christians should always be careful to use proper grammar and especially punctuation. |
